“Oh, There’s a Yellow Rose in Califor . . .” What?
Nothing warms a Texan’s heart (well, except for maybe fresh barbecue, or fresh pecan pie, or homemade vanilla ice cream) like the first yellow rose of spring. Whether it’s in Texas, or California, or anywhere for that matter. The Yellow Rose of Texas is one of the first songs you hear growing up in the Lone Star state. This one’s in our community garden right here in San Mateo. And when I see these start to pop in spring, I know that spring and summer barbecues can’t be far behind.
