ZZ Top

Man, I’m tired on this Friday. We’ve been fortunate enough to have some catering events stack up at the end of the week, so we’re busy cooking and spreading the gospel of Texas pecan wood smoke throughout the San Francisco Bay area all through the weekend. Usually when this happens, I tend to lag on getting Friday’s music out, but today I need something to crank me up. Mark and I’ve been talking lately about some of the Texas musicians we’ve ignored thus far in these weekly escapades. And one of those significant ommissions has been ZZ Top. Yes, they of the waist-long beards, the synchronized guitar swings, the souped-up cars being washed by scantily-clad ZZ girls in slooooow motion. Texas music royalty. And I personally need something to crank my engine today to help me along and boost me into the weekend. Do you feel the same? Well then, let’s strap ourselves in and head down the road with the boys. I promise it’ll be fun. It was hard to pick from the whole ZZ repetoire, but these are my ten favorites. Today is the first official day of summer! (Really? What have we been doing for the last three weeks?) Enjoy some good smoked barbecue with us, crank some ZZ, and above all, have a great weekend everyone.
